Background. Paternal gma had RA, half sister has RA, half sister with psoriatic arthritis, half brother and 2 nephews and a cousin with type 1 diabetes, and I have hypothyroidism. Major autoimmune family here.

Aug 15 I was shoveling and injured my left wrist. Couple weeks and trip to a surgeon later a torn tfcc is suspected. As I Sat in her office, I noticed my left fingers were overlapping strangely as I clinched my hands. My Mri showed tenosynovitis, soft tissue swelling and several reactive marrow edema spots. I asked the surgeon if I should see a rheumatologist based off these unusual findings and my family history, she said yes.
That day I began a flare as I left. The week was horrifically painful. 4 ADVIL and 3 tylenol twice daily to function. It eased the second week, flared the third, and I was then able to see the rheumy the first time. It is in my knuckles, my mid joints, both hands and about 5-7 fingers total. Swelling. Weight loss some. Low grade fever at times. Both wrists weak and tendons pull and hurt easily. Both ankles, my big toe joint left foot.

Ok. Tests reveal negative anti Ccp, negative rh factor (both of the ones), negative sed rate, negative c reactive protein, negative all lupus tests, negative antiphospholipid tests, negative wbc counts, negative TB, like negative everything. Only thing my vit d levels were slightly high. So she suspects sarcoidosis. I am not the typical mold but ok. Chest xray done and clear 100%. So I'm lost now.

Was given methylprednisolone 6 day pack. Day 4 symptoms are creaping back, and today day 6 I'm hurting again.

No tick bite either.

So, is it possible I am early on in RA and thus tested neg for everything? It's been only 2 months. Or is it, after all these tests being negative, possible it truly isn't RA? Has anyone had full negative panal tests and went on to develop positive later? It has only been 2 months....I'm lost. Will call rheumy back Thursday or Friday to report pain. Thx for reading!!!
