I'm a big hip replacement fan myself. You know, because we both shared the same experience, that my hips were in utter agony last summer/fall. I eventually could not even walk. I had my right hip replaced in October and now, it's like nothing was ever wrong on that side! Understand the recovery was not pleasant, but it was worth it to me.
My left hip needs replacing, that is TBA.
Although in my case, I had (still have in left) full cartilage loss/bone on bone (with bilateral tears as the cherry on top), I do think the idea of replacing it b/c then the RA has nothing to attack (thereby causing pain) makes sense to me.
Whatever road you choose, I'm with you all the way! I consider you my "hip buddy," lol.
