July 2014 regular apppint with gp. Blood work high esr. And crp . my chief complaint was the pain and stiffness in both hands as well as intense pain when doing anything with my hands. The pain came on fast and intence but went away fast and I could continue working on whatever with no pain. Dr noted both hands swollen and warm to the touch. He told me it was oa and gave naproxen based med. Now both hands are showing deformity and both wrist and hips hurt bad in am.

Did you men July, 2015? I think you should see a rheumatologist. RA is pain first thing in the morning. One of the questions I am always asked is "how long does the pain and stiffness last in the morning". Before I was diagnosed with RA, the pain would last hours first thing.

I can take pain so Aleve has been my friend . now my hips make me question getting out if bed. If it wasn't for the pain relief from moving around who knows.

In my opinion, pain relief is not enough. You need to start treatment, so that you will not have any further damage to your joints. You have said that your hands are showing deformity? I do not think your GP did you any favors by sending you off with a naproxen based med - if it is RA, you need more than that. I hope you will see a Rheumatologist.

I see my gp on Thursday . we are gonna have a conversation about my issues. I intend to ask him point blank to read me his notes from July 2014 . I will have him read my complaint. My exam and his findings if heat and swelling in BOTH hands .and the inflamitory marker on blood work. Ask him exactly what part if his report says osteoarthritis. Yah I might get miffed .

My gp told me the high esr and crp was a result of information. He said that it was osteoarthritis. Um esr and crp I just read are used to differentiate between oa and ra. It is not present in oa. How do I go about telling my doc he seems to have screwed up. We discussed the tests and the swelling and warmth in both hands as he discovered them on exam. He Saud crp indicates the inflimation present in your hands from oa. I cannot imagine he can be this incompetent but kinda seems he is kinda .
