I haven't heard of Neuropathy from RA, but my husband is diabetic (Type 1) and he has been having diabetic neuropathy issues lately. Have you been checked for diabetes recently?

I have neuropathy in my legs and especially my feet and yes it is directly related to RA. It was one of the early symptoms of my RA. It was miserable. I would get shooting pains down the back of my legs from my sciatic nerve and the burning in my feet became intolerable. I could barely walk. At first it was mis-diagnosed and I got a steroid shot which did NOTHING.

Now I take gabapentin and have for over 2 years. It works wonders. I take 200 mg in the morning and 200 mg in the evening. The only time I notice the neuropathy now is if I am on the elliptical machine for more than 30 minutes or so, then the burning and tingling starts in the bottoms of my feet, but goes away immediately when I stop.

From my understanding nothing is safe from RA, it can attack anything in your body. It's vicious! You just hope and pray it doesn't start attacking everything. Prayers and hugs to you.

According to the nuero I spoke with RA can cause &/ or aggravate neuropathy. My other doctors confirmed this. Hands were spine related to start with.
I've noticed if the inflammation gets out of control the neuropathy can also.
Although I get injections & nerve burning to help control it.
Of all the pain neuropathy takes the award for most painful.
Best to try to control it.
Bad enough to deal with RA add the neuropathy & it's no cake walk.
