I just started Humira and Methotrexate 2 weeks ago. The Humira was like a wonder drug the first week I was on it... felt like a new person... about 10 days after the shot, i felt the fatigue start to set in again as well as this awful numbness/tingling feeling in my hands and feet... i've been having trouble sleeping as well. would wake up in the middle of the night with my hands or fingers feeling like the were "asleep" and in pain. also have this pain behind my left eye that feels like a sinus headache. not sure what that's all about. just had my 2nd shot yesterday. i hope it kicks in and works as well as the 1st one.

does anyone else feel numbing or tingling and is that another "pain" associated with RA.. my joints didn't actually ache but my hands felt very swollen and stiff and numb.....

Tell you Dr. how you felt! This might not be the right drug for you! I do have issues with Numbing and tingling some is due to issue with Joint damage pressing on nerves and some side effects of the drugs. It best to followup with an Neurologist to be sure what is going on. I did get some surgery on my hands for carpel tunnel, radio frequency on my lower back and some pain block for my neck.

Do you have any swelling? I had numbness and tingling in my legs and feet and in my hands. For me it was because of severe swelling pinching a nerve I actually couldnt move the toes on my left foot for a year! Now they finally work yay! Hope you figure it out!

Hi JC

I'm on Humira, first shot in September. I started having tingling and numbness in my left arm and hand shortly after beginning it, It seemed to go away after awhile but came back in December. My rhemy sent me for a nerve test which seems to be normal. So in my case we believe it may be the Humira. Also have been having some breathing issue, like a tightness in my chest. Changing to Orencia possibly. Hope this helps. Feel better.

thanks for the comments... one thing i forgot to mention was the numbness and tingling went away yesterday after i took the shot.. and my hands felt numb or like that were asleep and kind of swollen.. when i made a fist it felt like i was wearing tight latex gloves... weird feeling.... it's hard to tell if symptoms are coming from actually RA or the drugs used to treat the RA. :)

I have peripheral neuropathy in my lower legs, and now in my R arm. At first it was thought I had MS (neuro ruled that out). 10% of RA patients can get neuropathy, although my rheumy doesn't believe that, but I have seen that number in medical journals. (I'll have to print it out for him)

I still follow with a neuro, and my ortho is sending me for an EMG of my R arm again (had one in '09 and had ulnar nerve transposition surgery) now the numbness in the R arm is back worse than before!

We just can't win with this disease sometimes!!

Methotrexate can be some rough stuff...but, for a lot of autoimmune issues, it works well.
