Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
I take any kind of act of love and compassions. I always wanted to say, "sending you healing energy" because I do healing work with my hands. i am very compassionate, but sometimes I will not say it, due to making someone uncomfortable.
But, God, the higher power, or whatever, is all good, as along as it comes from the heart!!!. or even healing aliens would be fine, as long as there not mean. lol
I live in an area which used to be Christian and is now mostly Muslim. Every 5 hours a prayer booms through the town and can be heard from everywhere, even at 4 am in the morning. It doesn't bother me and my grandmother once told me something invaluable, that God has different sheep in different flocks.
I think it's over reacting to be uncomfortable by reading posts which have religious overtones. Reacting should be left for the more important things. I assume your not living near a group of people that would take you hostage and use you as a political tool because your religion is different to theirs, so no need to react about reading posts with religious overtones because in reality the freedom that DS is encouraging is what makes us all SAFE.
I say this because I live in the West Bank, Palestinian Authority, sorry for the dramatic nature of my post lol, but just to give perspective. Wow if they knew my mother's Jewish background I'd really be in trouble. So really at the end of the day we should appreciate being able to converse with each other and still be safe.
Take care
The house mother was black, her husband was white and we lived in a poor neighborhood. Each night one child got to say the closing for the day. Sometimes we sang Jesus Loves me, or we might light a candle or say the pledge to the flag...but one child always just said, "I'm glad to be here and I don't want to leave".
That's pretty much how I feel about this board..I'm glad to be here and I don't want to leave...even if we are all different we share one common thing just like us kids did. Back then we shared not having parents. Here we share having RA. We need each other or we wouldn't be here. I'm staying and you can't get rid of me, no matter who you praise. (grin)
If anyone is uncomfortable with anyone saying Im praying for you, Bless you or any other term used by someone of Faith I suggest that you learn to be tolerant (I'm not sure if you know this, but the word Blessing and Praying are not specific to any one religion). If anyone is uncomfortable with a post talking about how a persons Faith helped them get through a difficult time and they want to express it in a poem or a song, then its their right.
The major problem that I am beginning to see is that these posts are specifically targeting Christianity and that is bigotry on your part (by your I am referring to anyone that continues to question the religious tone to any post) part.
As much as I wanted to just ignore this post because of the ignorance on your part, I have a right to speak up and express how I personally feel.
So, as long as this board is here, people will express their own personal ways of responding to someone who comes here because they are in pain, alone and looking fur Daily Strength.and for many, many of us, our Faith is # 1 in dealing with our disease and helping us to cope. Respect that or just educate yourself but its time to get off of the attack Christianity train.
The site is very simple to use and if you have a concern that you would like to search, just plug that into the "Search" field and it's amazing how much information there is relevant to the topic within this group that you are searching for. Example, fatigue, MTX, Humira....you get it.
