I posted on this a while back. I've had one on my little finger knuckle for quite a few years. Since I went off mthx, it got much worse - growing and painful. Then I realized I had many on my face.

If you are mthx, and it is not helping, or not on it for whatever reason, I would suggest you try Serracor NK. Sarah recommended it, and it has already made a considerable difference. The one on my finger has shrunk, and doesn't hurt anymore, and the 75 on my face are definitely going away. I guess this is one of the best non prescription things I have tried. You can order it on-line from biomediclabs. It is some enzymes and things. Or ask Sarah - she is the expert.

I just noticed I have pea sized bumps on both feet, the last two toe "knuckles" and smaller ones on the third toe in. They don't hurt when I press on them. Are these nodules?

I have lots of nodules. They ae on my toes, both achilles tendons, fingers and elbow like you. My doc tried a shot of cortizone in the one in my hand because it wwaas so painful and the needle would not go in it was so hard. The one on elbow she extracted some fluid to test for gout, which it wasn't.

According to my rheumie the nodules are ugly and can sometimes hurt but do you no harm. Unlike Angela my docotr told me that taking MTX can make nodules more severe not better.

I start rituxan next month and the rheumie said that this drug for whatever reason sometimes helps make the nodules smaller or disappear. Since I haven't begun treatment yet I have no comment on that theory.

I was having ultrasound treatments on my nodules on my achilles heels. The masage felt great but it did nothing to allieviate the nodules and both my therapist and I decided that the treatment was a waste. Good luck. marcia

I have been on the Serracor-NK for 10 months now. My nodules went away after awhile on this. I was very happy. A couple of my nodules had hurt like heck and having had been on the Enbrel shots and MTX didn't help it any to go away.

I was recently able to see a rheumatologist for a clinical trial. I had not seen one in years. I used to have nodules on my elbows too, along with other places. When I got my report from the doctor, I was surprised to see on the note, "No nodules" because I have a lump on a finger. He told me it's a cyst caused from the damaged finger and there wasn't anything I could do for it. Serracor-NK is suppose to help cysts too, but I think in this case, no matter how many times you empty it, it just fills back up again. (It's been emptied once.) Anyway, I definitely recommend trying Serracor-NK but there are others on the market that I have heard good information about like Vitalazyme. Serracor-NK is the only one I have tried besides Neprinol and of course I stopped taking Neprinol to go on Serracor-NK because it has worked out much bertter for me. Hope that helps!
