You should go see a doc if you've had coffee ground vomit. And it might be unrelated to the MTX.

Oh, and I got appt with new doc late January.

Also.....use your phone and photograph this should it happen in the future and show to doctor. My veterinarian gets lots of photos of my dog's poo.

Okay I am just saying this, do not want to alarm you. I was taking MTX and prednisone and was put on asprin by a new doctor. Within 2 weeks I was in the hospital dying. Gastric bleed. I thought a little blood when I threw up was nothing either. Next morning I could not get up, could not breath. Please be careful.

Never heard of MTX causing it.

Too much to.e between MTX and vomiting, I think, to blame it on the MTX.

No migraines in over 25 years. And I do think vomiting caused by the severe headache. If it happens next Thursday, I'll rethink the connection. Otherwise, unrelated incident I guess. Thanks all. Pinkcat, I'm glad you're ok. I refused pred when first diagnosed due to senstivity.

[If it was the cancer dose, I'd agree that vomiting can be an issue. But the RA dose is far, far less.]

I had really bad migraines daily with projectile vomiting for almost 5 years on oral mthx and prednisone. It destroyed my stomach lining, and even though I am not on the oral mthx,my stomach is very sensitive to this day. I finally identified the foods that were triggering the migraines and my stomach finally settled down. Now I take stomach enzymes and Glutamic Acid with my meals, and I rarely have them. Mostly when I take a pain killer on an empty stomach in the middle of the night. Who thinks to have something to eat when you are half asleep and in pain?

Pinkcat - it is my understanding that you should ever take prednsione and an aspirin based DMARD or aspirin as they are too hard on the stomacn and GI tract. I can't believe a doctor told you to do that, and sorry you got the results you did!

Doing fine thanks! Mtx tomorrow. Monday and Tuesday are my best days. Vomiting most certainly isolated incident.
