Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
But what you replace it with!? Now there is the problem. Any ways you can think of to de-stress? Meditation, patting a cat, reading to take your mind off of the pain?
That sounds really lame, I'm sorry! You are really between a rock and a hard place. I hope someone else can think of something that might help.
blessings to you
Speak to your doctor, perhaps even get alternate opinions from other specialists and see if you can find a suitable alternative.
Myself, l have Mobic for my sciatica pain (which flares up every now and again) What actually brought me to this post was my own little concerns/issues that l have after taking a Mobic on Sunday Afternoon...
I am on daily 150mg Aspirin and l did take the Mobic 15mg on Sunday.... Several hours later l was in terrible pain just below the cartilage/bone at the bottom of the rib cage (centre)
I was not sure what the heck was going on.... Ended up going to emergency hospital 3 x days later as the pain was still quite severe (but intermittent). Thankfully they ruled out heart attack... but no firm diagnosis, just told the usual things (no alcohol, no smokes... etc etc)
Yet to follow-up with my GP... I do have an appointment but its not until next week... Sadly our health system is under pressure and the good doctors are often hard to get in to when you need them.
I wish you all the best, cheers from Pete!
P.S. I am in Australia and among other things l want better health care for all Australians, especially the young and the elderly... if interested my website is https://charleton4casey.com
I hope you find a good answer.
I talked with my rheumatologist last week, and he agreed taking morphine for break through pain, rather than prednisone is a much better option for me.
I keep a daily chart on a monthly calendar, and I keep track of pain, moods, exercise and also morphine. I am not an addictive person, but I don't want to get "hooked." But if I see a spell when I have been taking it daily, and it always corresponds to 8 or 9/10 pain-either RA, or "other" pain. So it is ok to take it if the pain is bad. But if it is 2s and 3S9, I do not allow myself to take morphine.
Talk to your GP. Mobil has anti-inflammatory properties that narcotics do not.But you should give it a try, if you can.
Sorry you can't find meds to control the disease.
