It is a good place to start and is effective, but isn't a be all end all.
It is nice to only have to take it once a day versus every six hours with ibuprofen.
I know when I first started with a rheumy, I was not started on immunosuppresants right away, but three weeks later I got in on a same day appointment and left with a script for Sulfasalazine . . . . I'm still not convinced it helps much . . . better with it and MTX together . . .
Good luck with your tests, hope you get an answer soon!
I have 15mg pills that I break in two. I take half at night before bed. This is the BEST thing ever for my RA. I can sleep and I don't wake horribly stiff. IF I am hurting after I've moved around a couple of hours in the morning, I take the other half.
If you end up taking it long term, ask about something to prevent ulcers in stomach.
I highly recommend taking the mobic at night. I really think it helps with sleeping w/o pain which in turn, helps get through the day better.
Thanks all!
