I have been on mtx since 2013 along with mobic and folic acid; seems like this year has been harder with flares that are only relieved with steroids. My rheumy called me the other day about adding humira since he got my blood test results, he thinks my CRP is too high and my wrist are still a mess. I'm leary of mixing drugs and freaked about $500 copay. He seems to think I'm a good candidate for a clinical trial that involves humira and brand x, that he says is chemically identical to humira, and would be free for 2 years! I do trust my rheumy, he's good, but I am scared. I guess I'm asking the Pros here because I trust your opinions as well. Anyone? Trish
If that option is open to you Trish, I would go with it. It is a sure thing long term and you can't be disqualified for other medical concerns.
