I had obvious and massive symptoms of RA in probably 80 joints, but my sed rate was 0. I was sent away by doctors, given prednisone. Finally, I got an RA diagnosis and was put on Mthx and some NSAIDS, but it was not enough.
It took me 7 years to finally get on a biologic. After 17 years, and a Simponi failure, my new rheumatologist said I am the most severe case of RA he has ever seen.
For anyone in pain from sero-negative RA, keep looking for a doctor that will treat you properly. 30% of all RA is sero-negative, and any doctor should know to treat symptoms not just blood tests.
