So prednisone is an upper which means taking a downer to sleep.
By the way, how long have you been on prednisone? Is your rheumatologist giving you a DMARD or biologic? Prednisone is a drug you should not use long term, unless nothing else works for you.

cut down on caffeine, or that is what /how I do.
I take more than ativan that is calming....but not typical things.
even with pred, I swear my chamomile tea puts me out ,too.
don't discount the power of herbal tea, etc.+
