On Dec 19 an 20 i passed out going to the bathroom at night. Unconscious and awoke disoriented. No idea where i was or how i got there. Very scary.
Called EMS and was taken to ER where i was dx with covid and then i started getting *excruciating * back pain which was eventually dx as a compression facture of my spine. Pain very intense, requiring oxycodine and muscle relaxants etc.
No idea how i got COVID. I was super super careful. Never went anywhere. Ordered my groceries online. All my friends wrre shocked because they knew how carful i was.
10 days and endless tests later ( they wanted to rule out siezures so i had EEG and head an neck CT and MRI both with contrast.)..coronary tests...hundreds of vials of blood... and then they discharged me on the 30th.
A day or so later i fell 3 times going to the bathroom at night. I didn't pass out, i dont think. Felt like i lost my balance.
So...i am back in the hospital and this time they are arranging rehab.

Post viral syndrome is common with COVID. POTS is common. I have read a bunch of data about it impacting the autonomic nervous system. I hope you are able to get back to being independent. Please keep us posted.
Pilocarpine is used to treat dry mouth caused by radiotherapy in people with head and neck cancer and to treat dry mouth in people with Sjogren's syndrome (a condition that affects the immune system and causes dryness of certain parts of the body such as the eyes and mouth). Pilocarpine is in a class of medications called cholinergic agonists. It works by increasing the amount of saliva in the mouth.
So, right now, I sit more than I would like to keep from falling. I think It is all RA related too. Thank you for having the courage to go to the hospital. I wish I had the courage to go, but because of the dynamics of my family right now, I am trying to power through it.

It makes your body make more mucus and you'll be coughing even more. DO NOT take pilocarpine or Evoxac when you are having a respiratory flare-up because of the way the medication works. I found out when I had bronchitis several years ago. It almost drowned me there was too much fluid in there and the pilocarpine was making it worse!!!! So try to use a swish to wet your mouth until you can get past the respiratory problems,

But i have no respiratory issues. I have a sjogrens cough. Exoxac always helped with that
So, when i got back to the hospital, they discovered i have a bacterial blood infection most probably from the IV. Which means, had i not fallen and wound up back here i likely never would have known until it got to serious sepsis.
NOW, another IV just "blew" in my arm, causing my whole lower arm to swell.
I think they may be trying to kill me in this hospital.
