Hi everyone,
I wanted to share some (tentative) good news. I've had two infusions of Actemra (the higher dose) and I'm starting to see some improvement. I'm wearing my wedding ring today for the first time in about a year! My shoulders are always a bad spot for me, and they have been much less inflamed and warm lately. I definitely still have some joints that are not yet totally calm, but it's definitely much better. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this keeps getting better, and lasts!
Just for the full picture- I have sero negative, moderate to severe RA. I was diagnosed 5 years ago at age 28. I have another chronic pain condition from a spinal nerve injury. My other RA meds include Plaquenil, Arava, extended release morphine (called Avinza), and Nucynta for breakthrough pain, and I'm tapering down on prednisone, currently at 7.5mg/day.
I know some of you are still looking for your perfect combo too- keep hope alive! This is the FIFTH biologic I've tried, and it just might be the one!
