Support me :(. I have been have some extreme ankle spasms kinda like contractions. I am not sure if that is RA related or not but its making it to where I can't walk right now and no one is home and I am hungry lol. I've tried walking on it and all I do is fall right back down good thing I have a bed behind me hehe or that would hurt worse. I seem to be one of those RA people that are Med resistant to everything. I have been on mtx 20mg weekly and proixicam and folic acid for over 5 years. Never really worked for me we added humeria and embrel into the mix those failed as well. We are waiting on word for rixiuan they said they were going to call me the first week of January which they didn't. My mom has an appointment with the same RA doctor I have on Monday so I will talk to the insurance person there yet again. I am just ranting because I am hungry and no one here to help me get anything lol. I've tried to train my cats but you know how cats are hehe. just kidding of course. My mom gets off work in an hour watch when she walks in the door my ankle will probally support me then.:P If I am like this at 25 I would hate to see what I am at 30. Thanks for listening to me rant about me being hungry.

I find heat gives some relief when I have swelling. I have constant pain and swelling in my rt ankle and sometimes nothing helps. I do notice keeping the joint warm does help so I have various size ace wraps and find using this does help. I look crazy sometimes with my hands wrapped and my foot wrapped but I do what works.

i did notice it is easier to lose weight with this - didn't want to lose this way though. My left ankle is worse but sometimes both. Hope your day improves!

I have lost a ton of weight since I got diagnosed with this. Like you not quite the way I wanted to do it but I am glad it has happened.

Love- I always used to keep Trader Joe's blueberry bars on hand -quick and easy breakfast or snack and it helps with hunger without being too bad for you.

Cyber support and sympathy!! Oh the dreaded fear of not being able to walk. It will come right. If you can get a steroid injection under scan that is a miracle worker if ankle trouble is constant. If it is one of those come and go things give in gracefully for a day or so and rest up. Perhaps those of us who sometimes have difficulty getting others to get us food (not mentioning any particular husband of course...) should have an emergency disaster bag at hand with ...now what should we put in it?? Chocolate? Definitely! Over to you.

Ankles swelling................sometimes the NSAIDS make your ankles swell. I was on Mobic for yrs. and didn't know why my ankles were so big until I read that ibuprofin blows the ankles. Also, swollen ankles can be from alot of water in the kidneys. When I take my water pills my ankles go down and then I have to take potasium to replace the water I lost. It's a merry-go-round with these meds.

Love I'm so sorry you are in such pain. I've had some really bad ankle problems the last few days and have found as someone said heat works well for me.
As far as the food thing goes and this may sound strange but I keep in my drawer beside the bed some snacks like museli bars, candy bars and my all time favourite (when i can get them as they are not available much in Australia) couple of bags of Reeces Pieces. Also a large bottle of water on the side table. Keeps me going if no one is home to feed me when I can't walk
