One thing tho, my instructions say not to lay down for 30 minutes after taking Celebrex.

I have done that, as well. For me, I was just sure I didn't need them anymore. Boy, was I wrong! I hope you feel better quickly.

I did the penguin walk last night in the middle of the night, hips were in so much pain. I've done that with my meds also....my steroids. I always regret it but sometimes you just get SICK of meds.

This is October, so it's the "Frankenstein walk" for one month :D

I just got over several weeks of infections. After about two weeks off my meds, I was amazed at how good I felt. Until two days later when I could barely move again. I really liked celebrex, but had an allergic reaction to it (darned RA).

haha, I too know the "penguin" walk, did it just this morning, but my "owie" has been replaced with "motherf@#ker" did not know I had such a pottie mouth till this hit.

There is nothing wrong with checking if you can control your symptoms with diet instead of meds. None of us like taking these powerful medicines. Sometimes I feel like a guinea pig with these meds. The difference with all of us is that we have the smarts to get back on the meds when we see that diet alone can't control the symptoms.

yes I also tried not taking my meds at one time , I was still hurting so I thought they werent working anyway , LOL , that didn't last long, I found out just how much they really do work. i'm off everything now because of an up comming surgery on my shoulder next week , OOOOOH my goodness, I cant wait to get back on them :-(

I have always called it the frenkenstein walk...never heard of penguin!! And when you guys say the dr takes you off everything for surgury, does that mean pain meds too? Because that would not happen to me...I cannot exist without pain management.

hubby can tell when I am not doing well. Like this morning when I went back to bed after little man left for the bus at 7, I dodn't have class until 9:45a. Hubby is on stay-cation. He was supposed to go to Dallas last weekend for a conference, but had to cancel travel plans when little man got sick at the end of August.

I tried weaning my dose of MTX (which in hindsite was really stupid, but I was doing so well) in May . . .
We hate taking the poisons that increase our quality of life, it is only normal to question how well we would do without them.

well I can take my pain med as long as it isn't an anti inflamatory, due to possibly causing excessive bleeding during surgery, I am finding my pain med is so far holding me over, still have pain and swelling but the worst pain is being held back so far.
