Anyone get a red raised patch after enbrell shot ? The first few times I just got the normal bruise but last week I got a small raised area that was red. This week I got a much bigger red warm raised patch. About 2 days after shot. I was a little worried that each time it will get worse untill I have a bad reaction. But mayb it's just normal? I have med allergies like to plaquinel codine and sulfa drugs. I put a call in to the nurse but thought it would help to kno if its normal.

yep - and it's normal still. Take a Benadryl 30min before your shot. I had that happen randomly - like I'd get a welt on my stomach two days later, then nothing the next week, then a huge welt right after a shot. None were ever more than a local reaction. But I found taking the Benadryl stopped the reaction. Then again, I take an allegra daily, so it may have been more of a help than anything.

I get that too although it's always been about the same size, it's never gotten bigger than say a nickel.

Yes it's happened once out of 15 weeks. Mine have all bruised and about two weeks ago the shot left a red rashy spot about the size of a silver dollar. Didn't hurt or itch.

Kimberly97 - I failed Enbrel (or it failed me actually!) but yes, I did get a localized reaction every injection. The worst one was about the size of a softball and itched like crazy!!! Taking an OTC benadryl fixed the problem right away. I would take the Benadryl, Enbrel and then go to bed for a nice nights sleep. Did I mention I'm a light weight when it comes to Benadryl...LOL!

I hope this works for you, it did for me!

I get those. They were more common when I first started the shots. Now they are sporatic. I am never quite sure what the reaction will be from one week to the next.
My bruising has pretty much stopped, but I still get the raised spot on occasion. Funny thing is sometimes they don't appear for a few days and sometimes they show up within a few hours.
The never ending puzzle...
