Can't help but say congrats on not having had to deal with it until now!!!

This is only exacerbating issues with my weight (have no motivation to exercise due to the pain). I want to lose the weight, which I think would help my feet overall. But even walking around the grocery store shopping for an hour makes my feet hurt so bad I can hardly walk for the rest of the day.
I had both a couple of weeks ago - made walking near-on impossible when it was at it's worst and it seemed to cause terrible tightening of the muscles around the tendon too.
Heat and gentle stretching - put a towel around the base of your foot and pull towards you, gently stretching the heal. I must admit this did help a bit, but mostly I had to let it run it's course. Shoes with soft, padded inner soles seemed to be more comfortable also. Gel inner soles might help, but I could'nt get anywhere to buy a pair to try - maybe next time.
Hope the pains heading south, literally. Cheers
Linda
