Hearing loss, possibly from Plaquenil?

I've noticed I'm having increased trouble hearing lately. And other people have noticed it, too. I have no idea if it's because I've hit my early 40's or if it's related to the meds; I've done some research and apparently it can happen with Plaquenil.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, was it reversible?

I also have hearing loss. Mine is significant - I have 2 hearing aids and have for a few years. My hearing loss was discovered before the RA, but my rheumatologist and audiologist both think the hearing loss is autoimmune, and from what I've read, it's not unheard of to have hearing loss with RA, or to have multiple autoimmune conditions. So that could also be what's going on with you. If it is, it's not reversible, but they can stop it from progressing further.

Hello,
Yes i have also experienced hearing loss within the last 5 months but i had just started Orencia and i have to also get a hearing aid for my left ear and according to the doctors my hearing isn't going to return.
For me this has been a really hard pill to swallow because at first I thought it was just a ear infection. But with RA you never know what you're going to get.
