I have never had any one to talk to me like that. And you don't need that. he just made me mad. my husband walk w/me in the RA walk in may had fun. he helps me w/ the house work. so you find some one that will love you for you w/ the RA. good luck and lots of HUGS

My opinion would be to tell him thanx but no thanx!!! In any relationship, but especially in a relationship with a person that has a chronic illness etc, this is the last thing you need. You need someone that supports you, praises you and encourages you. Trust me, there are good guys out there...this isn't one of them. You deserve better:)

I've dating guys that made little comments about it, but that was when it wasn't so severe... There's playful banter and then there's just being an asshole, you shouldn't waste someone so unsympathetic, there are better guys out there. Feel better and hang around positive people, I hear that's good for your heath :)

I think most of us are on the same page with this one. Regardless of your health, hurtful criticism and demeaning you and your abilities are not components of a healthy, loving relationship. The fact that you have health issues makes it even more imperative that you surround yourself with those who lift you up, and who you can lean on - not ones who cut you down and are unable to support you.

This sounds like an emotionally abusive man and you do not need someone like that to bring more stress into your life. I think he has a low self-esteem and tries to make himself feel better by putting others down. The best place to find a good, honest man is in a church. Just sayin. lol. I'm sorry you were treated that way. Keep lookin.

There are all kinds of people in this world, Love. And this man is NEVER going to change. He is set in his ways. He is coming back to you to fill that insecure, unfulfilled ego of his and as long as you keep letting him in your life he will fill his and wipe yours dry. Stripping your heart strings of your love... We hate to tell you these things because you probably have feelings for him, but better now than when you are too broken.

Wow I like this DS bunch. They don't miss any words and they are telling you like it is in which I totally agree. The old non- understanding man has got to go.He should be a little more sensitive with age, but you never know.Tell him he is like yesterdays news..gone.

Lovebaby, Wow, is all I can say! I rely on my husband for SOOOO many things. He never belittles me and he wishes he could take my pain away. First of all, I am sorry to hear you are going through this. Having RA is hard enough and adding a stressful relationship to the mix is not a good combination. I went through a brief break-up over the holidays and it was tough. I did not want to be alone and was insecure about finding someone who would accept and understand RA. I am back with my boyfriend (the break up had nothing to do with my illness) and he has been very supportive, caring and our relationship is stronger than ever. My point being that there are good men out there. Regardless of whether you have a chronic illness or not, you deserve to be with someone that treats you with respect and unconditional love. He should be praising and encouraging you for all that you can continue to do (like working at Wal-mart), not crushing your self-esteem. I agree with all the other posts, that you need to end this abusive relationship for good. Added stress is no good for you and it's apparent he causes it.

Keep your chin up and know that here on DS you will always find support and people that truly care about you. Hugs.
