hands are shaking/tremors

Could it be the plaquenil? Or prednisone? Its pretty significant shaking. M

How much prednisone are you on? I was getting tremors in my hands and in my legs as I'd walk at a higher dose of 20mg when I first began it. I'd bet it's the pred. If it gets worse, contact the rheumy after hrs I'd suggest.

I take both prednisone and plaquenil. The only time I have had tremors is when my hands were extremely swollen and painful.

I am not a medical person but if I were to take a guess, I would say it is the prednisone. It would probably be best to talk to a doc if you can.

Is the shaking upon exertion, or also at rest? I have shaking in my hands even laying in bed going to sleep. Rheumy said it is not an RA symptom and referred me to neuro. If it all the time, it could be prednisone.

Plaquenil doesn't usually cause shaking. It could be Prednisone but I would definitely check it out with your Rheumy.

I've noticed the only time my hands shake is when I'm in a lot of pain. After a pain med and rest the shaking will go away. Best wishes!

My hands tremor at times. My thumb will do the same. Mine started with cervical problems.
The prednisone may contribute. I'd call the pharmacist & bring it up to your doctor.
