I've always thought it was interesting how different areas of the country do trick-or-treat. How do they do things in your neck of the woods? Here trick-or-treat has a set time. Different towns might pick different times, but there's always a limit. Usually it runs from 6pm to 8pm. After 8pm everyone has to be off the streets. It's really nice because what happens in most neighborhoods is that everyone sits out on their porch or driveway for the two hours and chats with the neighbors. It usually turns into a big block party. My husband and I always enjoyed it. : )

Save yourself the hassle of getting up and down and sit out in front of your door in a lawn chair with a bucket of candy.

Granted some years I looked like some sort of moving afghan because it was so cold out and I was bundled in so many scarves but then again those years the trick or treaters are in parka's too.

Most the time though I get to just sit there doing my evil cackle in my witches hat "daring" children to come up to get their candy. Mwah ha ha!

I spray myself with Off, and sit on my front porch. I am in Texas so it's still warm here. But getting up and down killed me. And at 9:00 I turn all my lights off, and go inside.
I make bags, with candy and little Halloween toys. I'm the house you wanna come to. I love Halloween.

Well it is raining here and suppose to rain pretty good all day and night. My children are 13 and 10. I had to start letting my son escort my daughter trick-or-treating last year because we didn't have a wagon big enough to pull me around lol. I've only been home to pass out candy twice in my lifetime so I was really looking forward to sitting outside. I still may. I plan to dress in all black with a hoodie and make it look like I am not a real person. I have a scary mask too. I'm going to try to sit real still and make them goblins wonder if I am real lol. I'm hoping the fun of it all will surpass the pain. Whatever ya'll do tonight I hope you smile A LOT!

No set time here in our Kansas town, but the littlest kids usually start coming around 5:30 and the rest keep coming to nearly 9:00. Our neighborhood used to get nearly 100 kiddos, but now less than 20. I've a friend who lives in an older historic neighborhood in the center of town, where the kids come in by the van load. She had more than 1400 trick-or-treaters last year. I don't know how they afford it, but she says she sits on the front porch handing out candy to lines of kids. Crazy!

Bad storms predicted here. Some areas have changed the day but where I live, it's still on. The storm is suppose to be right at the time they would be out 6-8pm.

Were having bad storms as well. I didn't buy any candy this year, My daughter is going with a friend and my son is scared of the other costumes so he stays in :-) I handed out candy last year and it was cold and I ached all over. So I told myself this year i'm not going to do it that and i'm having a flare from being sick. But last year I had a camping chair on my porch and a blanket and the basket was infront of me so I could monitor the kids and say only take one, or two kind of thing so it wasn't all gone in 5 minutes ha. The cold did get to me but if your in a warmer area maybe it won't be as bad?

We had 9 inches of rain last night! Hopefully the little goblins will have some good weather tonight. I'm in Texas too...so it's not cold. But, it doesn't take much for me to be chilled.

The hubby surprised me and came home early this week! Yay. I'm sure we'll sit outside for a bit.

This is my first Halloween with RA so I guess I will see how it goes. I have a good sized cauldron of candy by the front door. Our picture window faces the front walk so I will see them coming. Luckily, my hips are pretty good today so the up and down may not be too bad. If it gets to be too much I'll bundle up and sit our front in a chair.

Ole Bluedogs2 is going to dress up as a "grumpy old man", sit out by the gate and throw stuff at the car that goes up and down the road 60, 70, 80 times a day. Don't know where they live, but do travel the road.

we had *one* trick or treater, but we live in an apartment complex. i kind of assumed that all the kids from the complex would go door to door... that's what we used to do when i lived in apartments. the world sure has changed.

but if kids aren't trick or treating any longer, who's buying all the candy?

At 4pm, I realized it was Halloween and ran up to Publix and bought a bunch of candy. We don't have many children in our neighborhood so I bought eight full size Snickers bars for the neighborhood children and four bags of candy for all of the children that are brought to our neighborhood by the van and carload.

The odd part is that not one child came by for treats. I am now stuck with over $20 worth of candy.

If I didn't run up to the store, I probably would have had thirty or forty kids come by. That's how these things work.

nope didnt this year...not crazy about the truck loads of kids coming from other neighborhoods ..nor at 5 p.m. ..orrrrrr the fact the kids in our cul-de-sac are BAD !!!
