you dont have a tag along disease do you ??one of the first symptoms of lupus is hair loss...and anemia will cause that as well..thyroid issues ..wishing you luck and that you get it sorted fast .

I lost hair too, found out it was because my iron was majorly low! Might want to look into that :) good luck!

Ask you rheumy about Leucovorin, it is for hair loss from drugs for cancer or prescriptions for RA. One of the drugs you take May be causing it. I am on mtx and it has really helped

I lost most of the thickness in my hair on prednisone. It's actually listed 'thinning hair' as a side effect. It did take until my third year on it though.

I had hair down to the middle of my back - thick and wavy. Until this year. Over the past several months I've shed so much that it looks like I got several inches cut off, and it's thinning so much I can see scalp. It's like baby hair, won't even go into a ponytail anymore!

I'm not on MTX either. On Arava and Remicade.

Thanks everybody. I see my doctor on Friday, and I'll talk to her. I might push for trying a few months off the Plaquenil, since I think it has the least effect of the drugs I'm on. And Tami, it is possible that this is a lupus symptom. My ANA has always been abnormal, and my rheumie has said she thinks my RA has some lupus crossover (although RA is my only official diagnosis). Anyway, thank you all for the helpful suggestions!

It could also be caused by an imbalance of female hormones especially if due to pre-menopause.
