Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...

Researching what products can help, if any. They all say reduce stress, as if!
"there’s also promising news for some who have already lost hair. Over the past few years, evidence has been accumulating that a class of medications called Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors — used to help treat myeloproliferative disorders such as polycythemia vera, as well as other conditions — can also help resolve alopecia areata (AA), hair loss caused by an immune system malfunction. This condition affects some people treated for cancer, but also many others." https://www.curetoday.com/view/right-on-the-head-jak-inhibitors-may-reverse-hair-loss
And this: "JAK Inhibitor Increases Hair Growth in Women and Men with Pattern Hair Loss" https://arochahairrestoration.com/hair-loss-research/jak-inhibitor-increases-hair-growth-in-women-and-men-with-pattern-hair-loss/
MULTIPLE articles say JAK inhibitors are used for alopecia hair loss!
WTF!!
Could be my Losartan.
Hmmm...
I'm not on that drug, but I'm on MTX. Oddly, my hair loss didn't stop when I was off of it.

"Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder that causes your hair to come out, often in clumps the size and shape of a quarter. The amount of hair loss is different in everyone. Some people lose it only in a few spots. Others lose a lot."
"Normally the body's immune system allows the hair follicles to peacefully elongate. However, in patients with the common alopecia areata, the body's immune system attacks mature hair follicles, often results in irreversible and total hair loss, called alopecia universalis."
Because I don't have enough to worry about...
check your body for deficiencies. Do you take multivitamins for hair like this https://mybloommy.com/products/bloommy-biotin-collagen-keratin-capsules? or does anyone else vitamin? what vitamins do you take? but it is imperative to find out the level of minerals, perhaps the correct adjustment of nutrients will help to achieve the best result .check your body for deficiencies. what vitamins do you take? but it is imperative to find out the level of minerals, perhaps the correct adjustment of nutrients will help to achieve the best result.
My new phase of hair loss started March 2020 when I went on Plaquenil. During COVID, my hair dresser appointments kept getting cancelled for lock downs, so I grew my hair long. I had it long, most of my life, I like it better this way. My hair is silver- lots of white, but enough dark brown to keep it from being white. Not salt & pepper, although my 90 year old MIL has that. My mom is white, and it looks beautiful, esp. since she grew it long for COVID.
I am very frustrated with my hair, too. Silver hair in everything -my clothes, food, it wraps around socks in the washing machine. I went off Plaquenil in Feb., because of the side effects. The hair loss has slowed, but still falling out, steadily. But then, Plaquenil stays in your system for 5 years.
Of course, I do take mthx, although that was never a bad drug for hair falling out for me. And now on prednisone a bit longer, till I get mthx working, starting Thursday, if my enzymes are down. Prednisone was my nemesis, back when I only had asthma. I regularly was taking 40 mg a day for 5 days. I used to collect it when I bathed. Handfuls! Even my hair dresser was shocked! I have fine hair, but it was thick. It never regrew after that- just thin & fine, now!
I also take zinc & Biotin. That helps the mthx hair loss, but did nothing for the Plaquenil hair loss.
Well, I should get my stringy, silver hair trimmed, it's a mess. But not short, ever again! I'll pretend my hair that is everywhere is spun silver. I used to be a silver jeweller, 40 years ago, so maybe that is appropriate?
As for supplementing with vitamin & minerals, I take just about every mineral, vitamin known. I deal with a private company, very high quality, easily digested and have really noticed a difference. Plus collagen has really helped my digestive issues my biologic in particular cause. Besides, when you start a new med, and within a week or two your hair is shedding like a malamute, you know it's the drug, and not some vitamin deficiency. Been there, done that! I do absolutely need supplements, but the drugs ARE the cause of hair falling out!!
