Where are you off to out west? I live in Utah and its been really hot here for June. Heat makes my RA worse due to swelling. It's been up to 99 so far :(.
Good shoes are a must! My niece is a dental assistant and has me hooked on TOMS shoes. They are amazingly comfy! They are too casual for me at work but I wear them everywhere else.
Be kind to yourself and only so what you can! I hope your vacation is wonderful!
Xoxo MLC.
Take breaks part of the day. Take some maps...relax by the pool. Take some reading material....a good book for when they are of doing something else.
It is your vacation to and you deserve to enjoy it....
I learned the hard way to not try to keep up with my husband. He's big muscular and athletic. I would love to have his strength for one week.... but I've actually gotten hurt trying to keep up with him.
We will see how it goes.... but i may not be able to do all that walking....
Good luck Kimberly. I hope your trip is a good one, but I can really relate to your concerns. Isn't it sad how this disease manages to infiltrate every single part of our lives? Even a vacation becomes stressful.
Peace of mind to you

I know that anytime an activity like this comes up, it does "re-open" the grief of what RA has done to me - but once I take some time to kind of get quiet and "center" myself and to my mental gratitude check-off list, I do start to feel better.
Rest as much as you can, and enjoy fully the fun stuff that you CAN do, I know you will make lots of wonderful memories on this trip! : )

If not that, then take a prednisone pack with you, which might be the ticket to get your RA to stop while you are gone. Your doctor will definitely have some temporary advice!
