Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...

I drank cherry juice for a long time. While I liked it a lot, I didn't see much change (at least not like what I saw with predinsone and mtx).
I read last week that a few people here were looking for you, (no posts) how you doing? Guess you read how I am, well meant friends and their suggestions keep me wondering.
I have this picture of my hand being eaten up by RA and ond day it will be real bad because it's stuck there and all my other joints seem to be clearing up. Is that normal for one to hang on to one area?
Trying to find my way through this site, thought I asked that question but can't find it.
Hope you are doing ok.
Thanks,
Renee
You are correct with Naltrexone. Low Dose Naltrexone is different. You take a tiny, tiny amount and basically your body goes into overdrive with producing endorphins....you know, the stuff you produce when you exercise, have an orgasm, laugh, etc. etc. which decreases inflammation and does a host of other wonderful things to the body.
Is it a cure all? Well, if you have MS quite possibly it's the best thing since.....well.....they just don't have drugs that work for them.
Low Dose Naltrexone will decrease your inflammation and stimulate your immune system, and it will improve your body slowly over time.
There is a guy with MS that was able to snap his fingers for the first time after 5 years of being on LDN, if that gives you an idea what I mean.
I know one woman who needed only LDN to feel tremendously great. She was on DS and her name is Comfypaws.
Another girl, April Rrenae went on LDN and later went on antibiotics with LDN and guess what? She's not on anything now because she's in complete remission. For those like Bistro who have been on this site for a long while like me, know I'm not making things up. You can see her post on my blog...she had left a comment if you want to see for it yourself.
For me, it made me feel as good as I did on mtx and prednisone and I was off of both of those and just on LDN.
But I have a really bad case of RA. Eventually I realized that I needed more than just LDN. Sure, I could function quite nicely, but my hands needed to be used. Now I take Serracor-NK with LDN and that really does the trick for me. For those of you that are confused, I used to take Neprinol but switched to Serracor-NK because they are the same product. The manufacturers changed one thing about Neprinol so the distributor teamed up with the makers of the original Neprinol so they could offer the original blend as Serracor-NK. Still confused? I wrote a blog explaining or just use your search engine and you can find info explaining it better than me.
Anyway, LDN is great if you want to take something that will virtually improve your immune system and decrease inflammation. Do yourself a favor and get your blood tested then go on this and check it every month. Example: My anemia no longer existed being on LDN. It will improve more than just your RA.
Join the LDN group through DS and talk with real people on this drug. Or you can buy a book on LDN. Or you can go to my blog. Or you can go to their website. Or you can google it and find other people online. There's a support group on yahoo who take LDN too. It's out there and it does help, much much more than say fish oil and we all know, taking fish oil helps too!

I was just dx'd on May 1 and the dr. said I had a beginning case of RA, had fibromyalgia for 20 years and said we usually treat with mtx. I was afraid to take it and came up with the sulfadine, he said it would take 2 to 3 months to see any big differences and I could try it with the mobic and after 3 weeks saw and felt a big change and it has been improving weekly. He said when I come back he may put me on pacquenel sp? and that will be on July 1 so we will see. I have a little stiffness in knees and right hand off and on but a world of difference when this started abrubtly in Feb. and I was a pain filled sitting zombie.

If it's only one hand that gives you trouble, and everything else is good, there are still options...
