And so pissed at my doctor.  Called twice today leaving URGENT messages.


Wasn't until THIRD call that I was told you are not in the office today and so my "urgent" messages would no get to her!  And, finally that THIRD person said they'd have her covering doc call me.... Did the others not understand the definition of "urgent"?


BUT, in the meantime I was able to determine: "Rinvoq does not work right away. It can take about 2 to 8 weeks before patients start feeling better, and it can take 3 to 6 months to feel the maximum effect of this medication." 


*** She had to know this when she prescribed this on Jan 26. She KNEW it had to go through insurance pre-authorization.  Why didn't she prescribe a back-up plan for me until it started working?? *** 


Now, waiting about an hour and a half, so far, for covering doc to call.


Not a happy camper. I really liked (past tense) this doctor, now questioning that choice. Very disappointing.

I would be furious too, surely they should have given you something to tide you over until the Rinvoq kicked in. Their response to your urgent call was less than ideal too. I hope that you will get some relief soon.

I always say rheumatologists work at a glacial rate. Urgent is probably within 100 years. Non urgent 1000 years. Any other low level, maybe a million years?

Meanwhile, we are the ones in agonizing pain and getting deformities!

I hope the prednisone worked. It's such a bad drug for side effects!!

Amazingly, I have not as of yet taken any prednisone! I have never had such a painful flare start and seemingly stop, but I accept it happening with much gratitude.

It the way her practice is set up, not her. I wrote a letter to the CEO of the practice. Those taking phone messages did a very piss poor job.

Hello,
I’m new here. I had a great rheumatologist for 15 years that gave me pain pills to help with my Embrel and it worked great.
Unfortunately she retired and I haven’t found a good dr in 2 years.

Now I’m just suffering every day and
No drs seem to care about RA pain.

    I've been on high dose prednisone for pneumonia, and now I am slowly weaning. But lots of symptoms I don't like having, plus overeating has put at least 10 lbs on me. The food is "loud" as the GLP-1 users refer to it.Also pressured speech. Which comes out in my posts. Sorry I posted so much. I just need an outlet for my agitated and irritable brain.     I haven't been around in a long time. I am admin in a private group, and I would like to upgrade someone else to that position. I thought I knew how to do that, but the prompt has gone missing. Or is it not allowed to upgrade someone else to admin? I just find "ban and demote" under "Edit." I don't get notifications to DS anymore, but I wil come back in a few days to find out the answer.
