What am I taking now you ask? I am seeing an integrative doctor (they subscribe eating better, supplements, few prescriptions).
I am taking a natural anti-bacterial (anti-biotic) very low dose. Along with that I take a probiotic and lots of vitamins. I am currently on 5mg prednisone so we will see what happens when I come down. I have to get off this prednisone. Right now, I'm feeling pretty good.
I am just waiting for the RA to kick back in. Still think it could show back up any day now.
I had to try the anti-biotic route since my rheumatologist said the only thing left for me to take was Orencia. I am very sensitive to medicatons and side effects. The dmards cause my liver numbers to go up.
Keep a check on your liver numbers while you are on methotexrate. Mine went high very fast. But if you are taking methotexrate shots, would it still effect your liver that way.
Good luck and I know it's just a matter of time until you have the right meds for you.
Glad you're feeling better. I am blaming all my aches on this super humid weather we are having. Feel much better in the fall.
