Eye issue...

For the past few days I've had eye pain....feels like pressure behind my eye. I've had this before when I've had optic neuritis but, I also have a lot of twitching of my lower eye lid. I haven't had that before. Have any of your experienced this?

I'm thinking this is something unrelated to my RA but since I'm so new to this I thought I'd ask here.

blue dogs, I wanted to point out on my 2nd "trick" for eye drops, with the closed eye way, you can aim to the inner corner of your eye even with closed lid, and then open. It's good to blink, and roll your eyeball in all directions to really get it coated good.
I am not familiar with the stuff you all mentioned but assume it is good and moisturizing. I recommend to avoid the old fashioned regular Visine that "gets the red out" if you need to use something daily, b/c that can kind of set you up for rebound issues.
and to RCross, I meant to mention, did you get rid of your pain and it did sound like a possible cluster headache. Peace ! Now I am finally done !

ThisToo.... the neuro and eye doctor felt that it was most likely MS rearing it's ugly head. They treated me with IV steroids (usual) and it's much better. The pain is gone, but the twitching still remains.

Now if I can just get your "trick" to work - Hummmm ....

Rcross, wondering how your eyes are doing now. I have been having alot of pressure in my head, behind eyes, really from the neck up. Wondering now if it is starting in the eyes though. Went to PCP last week bc eyes were burning, itching, swollen eye lids. He said allergies and prescribed prednesone. Eyes cleared up but not the pressure. Not really pain so much, a little, but alot of pressure. I have an eye appointment on Monday. Have not started RA meds yet so I know it's not from that. My mom has glaucoma. Last eye appointment I had was 1 1/2 years ago, and eyes were fine then.

i have been diagnosed with blepharitis and dry eyes as well. it is horrific. i haven't been able to wear make up in almost a year and i can't seem to get rid of it. my eyes hurt (have eye drops i use daily) and when i rub my eye lids it feels like there is sand all over them. sometimes i wake up in the mornings and have trouble seeing. i sometimes have what feels like a liquid discharge from my lids as well. i do have a steriod ointment i use as well as take doxycycline. it's awful. another great side effect of RA or the medications used to treat it.
