I had a little bit of redness and very slight swelling for a day or two after the shot, but not like you. The redness lasted only a day or so for me.

I have had a few weeks of red itchy spots that lasted about 3-5 days.

They are getting better now. Hopefully I won't have them at all at some point again.

I have been on Enbrel since Nov. 2008 and on the last 3 shots there has finally been no redness or swelling. I learned to put an ice pack on the skin where you are going to put the injection till the skin is numb. Then inject then put the ice pack back on. This does help. I also noticed if I didn't let the alcohol dry before I injected it I got a huge red welt and it itched for several days. The Enbrel has been a life saver for me.

Yes, I also had injection site reactions a few weeks after starting Enbrel. They have gotten smaller and less itchy over time. Two things have helped me- first, I take a Benadryl about half an hour before my Enbrel shot, and second, I switched to injecting in my low belly. It's much less painful there and the itch isn't nearly as bad as it was on my legs.

Sometimes I do and it lasts a week or two. It is aggravating when it itches

I've been on Enbrel 50mg SureClick since Nov. 2008. I've only had the redness/mild bruising a couple of times. It hasn't been a problem.
Enbrel has made a huge huge difference for me. I hope it helps you too.

i've been on it for several months, and haven't had any side effects. no redness, swelling, nothing.

I just started teh 50mg sureclick this month,I usually bruise very easily and thankfully nothing but a small red bump, but ive heard that its normal to have some site reactions that should dissapate after a few uses. Hope everything starts to get better for you, happy holidays!

I have been on enbrel six months. Ocassionally I get a bruise that lasts a week, but not often. Sometimes the bandaid leaves a little red area, kind of like an irritation, but goes away by the end of the day. Unfortunately, I'm not satisfied with the results, I want to be feeling better than what I am, so I don't know what is in store for me next.......

I got this kind of redness with the sure click, but when I switched over to pre-filled syringes, it alleviated the problem. It took a little getting used to but it was totally worth it.

I used enbrel for awhile and went straight to the syringes. I had tried the pen thing before and kept getting bad bruises. No troubles with the syringe.

I always get injection site reactions when I start a new med. I got it with Enbrel, and then when I switched to Kineret. The first year with that it was a daily shot, and I had multiple, swollen itchy spots. I had to take Benedryl to deal with it. One thing that helped was not injecting into my stomach. It seemed to stop when I only injected in my hips, although mthx never had a reaction.

Hi bigi. I use a syringe and yes I do get a little swelling. I usually ice the area for at least two minutes before and a minute after and this helps alot. I notice when I am in a rush to do it I usually do a bad job of it. If I take my time I do it slowly in a quiet place the outcome is usually far better. My doctor told me I am to rotate from my belly to my thighs or my bottom to reduce the stress in just one place but I am not comfortable injecting my thigh and usually stick to my belly. Also I sometimes get my husband to inject my bottom which helps especially when I just don't want to do it that day. Rotating where you inject can help if you aren't doing that already.

I get the same thing. Its just a slight allergic reaction. A red, itchy, slightly swollen patch for 1 - 2 weeks. Icing the area before and after, benedyrl creme and making sure you let the injection warm up fully has helped reduce the reaction. I'm using the regular pre-filled syringe and I still get it.

It also started at about the 6th week. Funny weeks 1-5 no mark at all so it may have something to do with the slower healing becuase of immune suppression... likely means the meds are working... YAY!!
