This question was recently posed to me. My doctor pretty much favored the Humira as it is only given once every two weeks. He said the Enbrel is once a week. As he leaned towards the Humira, that is what I choose. I have only had one injection at this point, so have not much result yet. I am very hopeful. Humira was added to my MTHX injections and 5mg prednisone. I was asked to get a TB test, a pneumonia vaccine and a flu vaccine before we could begin the treatment.

The biggest shocker was the price tag! The doctor's office staff took care of the insurance approval and started the process for the pharmacuetical company's help too. It worked out well, but I stressed through the process.

I am on Humira if you are worrying about the price.Go on there wab site www.humira.com and get a Humira Protection Plan Card I pay 5.00 a month for my meds.It really has helped me alot.
So far so good it only gives me a little headache a couple days after my shot.

i took both and found them 6 of one and half a dozen the other...

but I took both once a week. sounds like there is a new version that is bi-weekly. that's a plus.

I started out on enbrel and it didn't do too much for me. I was on humira for 7 years and it helped alot. Trying to get pregnant now so they switched me to enbrel because its out of your system faster if i am but i had to go back to humira because i was in too much pain

Also, I have to check with my insurance company - Dr. said some insurance companies want you to try Enbrel before you try Humira. His nurse did give me info on the special discounts from both Enbrel & Humira.
