Hi all, I have been very fortunate that I have not been sick for 10 months, aside from RA and related symptoms : ) . Yesterday I came down with a severe sore throat so went to my primary thinking it might be strep. The test was negative, so he said it was a viral infection, take tylenol, ibuprophen and rest. I also had a fever, so I did not take my Enbrel shot today. It is difficult getting these kinds of questions answered at my Rheum. office. My question is, how long should I post-phone the injection? Primary thought 12 hours after I stop taking meds for a fever. Thanks for any advice.
I started Enbrel a year ago and recently had an infection that required me to stop the Enbrel. My Rehumatologist instructed me to skip the Enbrel shots until my infection had cleared up. The infection was tougher to clear up than in the past (probably due to my lowered immune system). I ended up having to skip 2 injections.
I always take my Enbrel on Friday so I skipped 2 Friday's and started back up on the 3rd.
