Hey everyone. I wanted to find out if this happens to any of you. Ever since I started the infusion medications, first Remicade, now Orencia, I have ear problems. I had to take antibiotic when I was on the Remicade and kept having ear and throat pain so my doc took me off of that and I started Orencia 3 weeks ago. Now I'm having ear pain and my throat hurts and it's really hard to swallow food. I took sudafed and my primary doc had given me a nose spray but they still hurt. I'm going to urgent care tomorrow if I can't get into the ENT. I have an appointment at the ENT for Friday but I can't wait till then. I have cold chills too. Has anyone had these issues from the medication? Thanks!!!

I get ear pain with my seasonal allergies AND it is also a good indicator for me that I am not well managed! I had vague ear pain for over a year before diagnosis .. . .

I have similar problem, but sudafed (NOT the psuedo-sudafed) and flonase spray keep things alright. Sorry for the pain. It hurts!

Have you thought about candida? We get it really bad after antibiotics because of our immune systems. It can make it severely painful to swallow (esophageal candida) I have to take antifungals every time I take antibiotics because of it. I get the ear pain too but don't know if that's related to the candida because they say that my ears are ok but ttat stuff is all so close and connected inside.

Ouch, ouch...I never thought of a yeast infection in my throat Ouch!

And Ouch for the ears too.

My ears hurt with loud music...I have no idea if it connected to RA or anything, jut something weird.

Thanks for the responses!! Went to the ENT today and of course I feel better. He said he saw no fluid, but the day before the Dr said they were inflammed. He thought that it was TMJ. I said no, I've had that before and this is different. He said probably from the RA because there are joint at the back of the jaw that could cause ear pain. He said next time they hurt go to his office right away and he'll look at them. That's my story....and I'm grateful that today they don't hurt!!
