Prednisone can also cause eye pain and red eyes. So it could be either one or both causing the problem. A lot of the RA medications can cause various side effects including eye problems. I would let your doctor know and decide for yourself how well Prednisone is working for you and if it's worth this inconvenience.

RA is a chameleon disease - I believe it can pop up anywhere. I seem to remember one of the women in our "drip group" - Remicade users - had an eye issue.
I hope you can figure out soon what is causing this for you.
