Disappearing messages

This is not quite an RA topic except that very often, usually when I have completed a lengthy message to a friend on DS, the site seems to flicker and the whole thing disappears. Some of my DS friends say it happens to them.

This is relevant to RA as sometimes it is hard to type and the effort put in is wasted leaving sometimes the residual typing pain for nothing and also frustration. We all know about stress and this disease and in that situation it is almost impossible to rewrite the message even if we had the time.

Has this happened to you? Maybe if it is happening to enough of us DS will check their site. I am not always happy with responses to direct contact with them.

It has it's quirks. Most sites do I think. However, well said about the effort it takes to type it up. That's why most of my comments/posts are really short. LOL!

Something I do sometimes is copy and paste into a word document. Then if I lose something because of a DS glitch, when DS calms down again, I can resend it. I do it esp with long messages.

Or there was the time, when you would send a message, and the recipient would get 10 copies of it. Is there no middle ground? LOL

Another vent I completely agree with. Many times I have written a topic or responded to a post to just have DS go down on me for maintenance or something and my whole work is just gone. I ususally don't have the energy or hand power to do it again.

I sometimes do copy and paste from a Word document, as Angela suggests.

Ditto, I copy my post before I hit "Add," so that if there is a glitch, I can paste it and try again. Nothing worse than to labor over a comment and then see it go away -- especially if my hands aren't working well that day.

funny , I just went to your Journals to get caught up and only found this so ...it makes sense ! I like the ideas of the copy and past . I know some people have a voice activated program for their computers but really don't know if thats a possibility. The only issue I had is once I cam and my page showed my account was closed. I sent a message and a few days later it was back on. Anyway , was just curious what you were up to ...any upcoming singing plans ? ...Gail :-)
