I posted on here about month and half ago about how i filed for disability and a few of you wanted to know what the outcome was. I got approved the first time around I was in shock. I read the letter four times because I couldn't believe it. Maybe now I can get medcaid and get something that works for me

Can I have some pointers? :) I go in a week for my physical exam, I'm nervous, we really need the cash and I really can't do my job.

Congrats!! Check with your case agent on when your eligible for Medicare/medicaid.. I was approved first time out but not able to get medicare for 24 months on SSDI...

What a relief for you! I got mine recently and am so pleased! I don't know how many times I read the letter the day I got it... I was overwhelmed so I can relate. Don't pinch yourself to hard!

I don't really have any pointers all I did was tell them the truth and the sent me a function report and asked how i did before the RA and how I was now and what i could do then and what I can't do now. So I really don't know what to say.

I think that is terrific! What a relief for you! I applied back in 2007 and was quickly turned down. I then went to a lawyer who submitted an appeal and then I waited, and waited, and waited some more. My husband kept nagging me to contact my local state representative to see if he might be able to help. Well, just to get my husband off of my back, I contacted my rep's office, sent them my info, and a week later I received a letter from my rep saying that I had been approved and then the next day received a letter from Social Security approving me and I also received my SSD back pay. I wish I would've listened to my husband sooner, but I didn't think a state representative would be able to help. Boy, was I wrong!

Thank you all for your positive feedback my friends saw this as an ending and I see this beginning so i can work on my masters and get some medical help. they think I have given up I just wished they understood

lovebaby8, this is what makes this site so incredible! We can pat each other on the back (softly) and discuss current events in our life, especially medical ones, for great support. And ya know, somehow having this support groups makes it okay for those others to not understand.
