My in laws are visiting. I was telling my mom in law about going off all meds. She AGAIN recommended osteobiflex. It worked great on my feet and back she stated.
I said, isn't it for cartilage problems (hint hint, RA is NOT cartilage problems).
Her response? It's for arthritis. It may work. Arthritis.
I don't have arthritis, I have an autoimmune disease called Rheumatoid disease, forget the word arthritis!!!
There, I feel better. No I haven't tried it and I won't, until I get arthritis. If I get arthritis, I will then try it yes.
For an update: after being off all meds for loosing massive amounts of hair, I still have ra and feel worse every day. I suppose I'll be put back on Plaquenil. Thx for letting me vent. I love them dearly, but the vast amounts of ignorance in the general population on the very basics of what RA is, is disconcerting to say the least.

But I did have a co-worker come up to me not long ago (and this woman isn't really a friend) but she does know I have RA.... she wanted me to explain the difference between RA and OA... I was very touched that she wanted to know what was going on and was trying to understand it all.

She's awesome, just completely unaware of RA and it's magnitude. My husband refers to my "arthritis" in speaking. Boy do I tear into him lol. He KNOWS the difference, has heard me explain in vast details the difference, but still refers to my "arthritis", especially in passing while talking to his family. That MAY be part of the problem. I need to convince him to call it just plain rheumatoid as I like to call it.
If you say rheumatoid, and someone says like arthritis...rheumatoid arthritis...etc, you can say NO:) Rheumatoid isn't arthritis but an autoimmune disease attacking the fluid around joints, tendons, and bursas causing bones to erode and deformity of the hands and feet over time.
If I gotta live with it, give credit where credit is due lol! Thx for the responses. We have ALL been there I KNOW. Love the support here!!
