Weakness: Weakness and fatigue is the most common prednisone withdrawal symptom. One may feel extremely weak if prednisone is abruptly stopped. Muscle weakness is more prominent.
Abdominal Pain: Frequent abdominal pain or a burning sensation is one of the prednisone withdrawal symptoms.
Weight Loss: If prednisone is stopped abruptly, there is rapid weight loss which may lead to extreme fatigue. This is one of the most common prednisone withdrawal effects.
Sudden dip in Blood Pressure: A person might experience a drop in blood pressure levels, even if one does not have low blood pressure.
Joint Pain: This prednisone withdrawal symptom is more common with people who underwent prednisone treatment for arthritis. Joint pain may suddenly flare up.
Menstrual Changes: There can be irregularity of periods in case of women.
Nausea and Fainting: Nausea is one of the common prednisone withdrawal symptoms. Nausea is considered as a serious withdrawal symptom. Prednisone withdrawal can also lead to symptoms such as fainting. If two or three of the above symptoms occur at a time, it is known as prednisone withdrawal syndrome. So it is necessary to taper prednisone and not stop it abruptly.

OMG....i lost 5-7 lbs in a few days, water...after remicade Thursdays increase...felt better
i was on 30mg prednisone for 3 weeks. I know i gotta taper, and wean slow..it can mess with adrenals

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

it can save a life with asthma...and even my daughters mono was so bad, she was choking on her own saliva...her glands were so swollen..by day 2 of a 7 day dose...she was all well
Long term doses of it, gotta be tapering off slowly. I used it for 5 yrs, before Enbrel came out. And i was on 7mg....and felt so good after Enbrel, i went off 1 mg a week....and got off..RHeummy freaked and sent me for a blood test to check cortisol levels, i think?
i was fine...but i gotta take it if i am flaring so bad, i couldn't sleep i was in so much bone pain. ..and the worst pain comes back when going to sleep at night...grrr..throbbing fingers!
Hopefully i don't get another, flare like that again soon..I had a Remicade increase, ...hope it lasts the 6 weeks till the next one.
I've heard it might take 6 months , or even longer to really work good, then possibly may lower dose, or stretch it to 8 weeks and beyond
