Prednisone withdrawal symptoms include symptoms like weakness, headache, etc. which are very common and so can be overlooked.
Weakness: Weakness and fatigue is the most common prednisone withdrawal symptom. One may feel extremely weak if prednisone is abruptly stopped. Muscle weakness is more prominent.
Abdominal Pain: Frequent abdominal pain or a burning sensation is one of the prednisone withdrawal symptoms.
Weight Loss: If prednisone is stopped abruptly, there is rapid weight loss which may lead to extreme fatigue. This is one of the most common prednisone withdrawal effects.
Sudden dip in Blood Pressure: A person might experience a drop in blood pressure levels, even if one does not have low blood pressure.
Joint Pain: This prednisone withdrawal symptom is more common with people who underwent prednisone treatment for arthritis. Joint pain may suddenly flare up.
Menstrual Changes: There can be irregularity of periods in case of women.
Nausea and Fainting: Nausea is one of the common prednisone withdrawal symptoms. Nausea is considered as a serious withdrawal symptom. Prednisone withdrawal can also lead to symptoms such as fainting. If two or three of the above symptoms occur at a time, it is known as prednisone withdrawal syndrome. So it is necessary to taper prednisone and not stop it abruptly.
Thus, for prednisone withdrawal treatment, one should contact a doctor as soon as prednisone withdrawal symptoms are seen, to minimize risk of these symptoms escalating into full-blown secondary diseases or conditions. You may also like to read on prednisone uses.

OMG....i lost 5-7 lbs in a few days, water...after remicade Thursdays increase...felt better

i was on 30mg prednisone for 3 weeks. I know i gotta taper, and wean slow..it can mess with adrenals
that teeny little inexpensive pill is darn powerful

Prednisone is not a nasty drug" to me. It makes me able to live my life more fully and have less pain and swelling. As a side effect, I haven't had any trouble with asthma since I've been taking it.

It was so awful for me, the side effects, then the withdrawl was wicked. I'm glad so many are helped, believe me, it was just horrible for me personally!

I wish it was a "side effect free" drug! It works, but the doctors are so anti me being on it!

Uggg nasty drug for me. Roller coaster drug, your up and down. I know it works for many people, and it's a great drug to use when you are first diagnosed, but the down time, yikes! It feels like a truck ran you over when it wears off. I thought, make that i KNOW the pain when I woke up in the morning, was worse than the regular pain is. I hurt so bad when the pill wore off. I had to quit, it made me grumpy,sad,and a litlle depressesd, errr make that a lot depressed. I was no longer me. Glad it works for for others, just a really hard drug for those that are drug sensitive.

Oh, yes powerful anti-inflammatory

it can save a life with asthma...and even my daughters mono was so bad, she was choking on her own saliva...her glands were so swollen..by day 2 of a 7 day dose...she was all well

Long term doses of it, gotta be tapering off slowly. I used it for 5 yrs, before Enbrel came out. And i was on 7mg....and felt so good after Enbrel, i went off 1 mg a week....and got off..RHeummy freaked and sent me for a blood test to check cortisol levels, i think?

i was fine...but i gotta take it if i am flaring so bad, i couldn't sleep i was in so much bone pain. ..and the worst pain comes back when going to sleep at night...grrr..throbbing fingers!

Hopefully i don't get another, flare like that again soon..I had a Remicade increase, ...hope it lasts the 6 weeks till the next one.

I've heard it might take 6 months , or even longer to really work good, then possibly may lower dose, or stretch it to 8 weeks and beyond

I don't know what I would do without it! I was really sick for about 2 weeks and couldn't take my Remicade for a month and so I had a flare again and prednisone helped. I feel very blessed that I have not had many problems from it.

    I went to the doctor a while ago to see about my allergies. He rubbed my arm and stuck things under the skin. Nothing. He poked and prodded, his phlebotomist drew so much blood people thought that we were dating. The tests all came back negative. Then one day I went back and I told him that I had found the cause of my allergy.It turns out, I am allergic to betrayal.
