Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
I looked back starting around late October early November of 2016 & 2017 and both years started virtually the same for my pain & stiffness levels. 2018 appears to be mirroring the past 2 years identically!
Low level stiffness & low level pain jumping from joint to joint. Mornings seem to be much better than late afternoons. I'm typically the worst right after I come home from work & start to relax & then get better closer to bedtime.
Seems like I stop logging around early January for both 2016 & 2017 so that tells me I started to get back to normal around that time & didn't feel the need to keep logging. Last log for 1/4/18 says, "Woke up, no stiffness, no measurable pain, except slightly in right index finger, gone by shower. no warm joints, no swelling, no red joints".
I did notice while flipping through my log that it was blank up until around March for each 2016 & 2017 & 2018 with some logging of joint pain, flu like symptoms but no real stiffness & for only about a week & then gone again.
I don't like cold either. But, 60 and 50F? Sorry, that is a warm spring or fall day. I would be riding my bike in that. I always rode my bike to 5C/42F. After that, my reconstruction foot would turn into a block of ice. Another reason for not getting the other foot reconstructed.
Wear layers of cold, don't dress like it is 90 outside. Wool and natural fibres are better. Get an electric space heater, electric blanket and electric heating pad. Use them as much as you can. Don't be embarassed to wear a wool hat and mitts and a scarf. I do! Oh, Ugg boots and slippers. I'm not sure how Australians have made a product that is ideal for Canada, but I swear by them.
I was in Colorado during August and the temps were much colder than where I am from. The lack of humidity helped me tremendously.
I would like to live in a very very dry climate like the mtns of CO. I felt great while I was there. Humidity bothers me more than cold. But then again, that's probably bc fronts and barometric pressure is involved.
