Hi everyone,
For the most part, I have been doing very well these past few weeks, since starting Actemra (hooray!). But there is one stubborn area that seems to be getting worse, not better- my sternum/ribs/clavicle. I have been having pain every night for at least two months. I think the pain comes on then because I take an extended release painkiller, and that is when the previous day's pill starts to wear off. Today I have had the pain since I woke up. It's on the right side, above my breast and below my collarbone. I believe it's either inflammation in the connection between my ribs and sternum, or perhaps referred pain from my clavicle. Anyway, I'm not sure why this area isn't responding to the meds. Would it be worth going in to my PCP or rheumie? Has anyone gotten a cortisone shot in this area? (I have to minimize my use of NSAIDS due to stomach issues, and I am trying my hardest to get off daily prednisone.). I'd appreciate hearing about any of your experiences.
Thanks,
Caren

Caren..good idea to call the dr... sounds painfull , dumb question ..but have you tried laying down flat and tilting your legs to teh left or right with a pillow between them ? i know it seems that the two may not be realted , but some times it is and possible to relieve some of the pain that way until you see the dr ....good luck , hope you feel better .

Hi Caren, I have suffered from costochondritis the past few years and it always seemed worse during the winter months. I also found laying down to be more painfull, especially on my back. NSAIDS did help though.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
