At this point all I do is work and watch TV. I HATE MY LIFE. There's nothing left of my self. Nothing matters anymore.

I used to love cooking and eating now I can only eat low fodmap. I used to love to exercise. Now is I do anything physical I'm in agony for 5 to 7 days. My life nothing.. just work and misery.

I'm sorry to hear this. Have you considered that it may be time to talk to your doctor about going on permanent disability? Stress exacerbates this illness and trying to work made me infinitely worse. My life is better since being on disability. I have more down time to recover between activites and my stress has gone down. I'm not trying to meet other people's expectations and I'm not comparing myself to 'normals'. My world shrank, but my life is happier. I use to only work, rest or get things together (food, laundry, cleaning) so I could go back to work. I did this for years. I spent the weekends recovering from the week. I do not miss it at all.

Hello,
I’m new here and I feel the same way I’ve had it for 16 years.
I usually take pain pills and Embrel .
I can’t take my Embrel before the vaccine and I’m in so much pain.
The pain drs treat me like RA doesn’t exist..

I would suggest that more than increasing your mthx, you make sure you are on injectable, which is much more efficient at delivering the drug to your body.

But more important, it is time for a biologic, or maybe a triple comb of DMARDs. I was like this for 5 years. When I finally complained, I was put on a biologic, and I was 100% for 5 years. (Till I had to go off mthx, because my liver enzymes were so high!) I even tried to go back to work, but they would not take me, in case my meds failed. And sure enough, a month later, mthx failed!

You may not have money for a biologic but there are ways to get around that, even in the US. Talk to your doctor about compassion biologics. I hope you feel better soon.

SLPT - can't see your profile but if you are not on a biologic - absolutely talk to your rheumy about getting on one. It can actualy put you into remission and stop the progression of the disease. Most drug cos have programs for those wihtout insurance or not able to for co-pays.

I know this disease and pain are both very depressing as are the financial pressures you are under, but some medicinal help to get out of the slump you are in might be called for. Another thing to talk to your doc about. I can't think of the name of it but there is actually a med that us both for pain and depression that I've been on. Cymbalta?
