Oh my goodness I have had a major set back!! On Mother's Day I went out to eat with family and my foot slipped off the running board of the truck I fell out of the truck felt a snap and the most excruciating pain if my life!! After all night in ER they sent me home with knee immobilized (2 hour trip one way) then had to go back to surgeon and spent all day get painful imaging and such I have partial tear of one tendon by the knee and tearing of quad muscle with hematoma. Won't require surgery but I can't bend my leg or lift it on my own I also can't bear weight on it. I have no idea how this is going to hinder my recovery. I'm so upset I had finally begun to do well. My healing overall is slow right now with my RA bruises are being slow to heal and I also still have a nasty looking scab that has been a sore on the incision site since the beginning the dr is a bit concerned that it's not healing quickly and still a bit raw he made a note to keep an eye on that

Sweetie, so sorry to hear about your setback. Truly, truly rotten luck. I too spent Mothers Day evening in ER, but it was with my daughter and eldest grandson. Seems like he had some sort of insect bite below his eye and it mad his eye so swollen it was almost shut. They really do anything but allay mom & nana's fears. Benadryl and ice: same things we were doing at home. They didn't really want to give him steroids because he is only 7. A bit a good news for today our daughter is expecting, and the due date is on her birthday, 12/29, hows that for a top birthday gift! Sure hope you get to feeling better quickly and that this doesn't impede your healing process. Take care of yourself. Trish

I'm really so sorry to hear of this painful setback. Especially, right when you were turning the corner for the better. I am very happy to hear you will not need surgery as you would then need to go off your RA meds.

I do believe that it's just the nature of the beast that we all heal slowly. I hope the pain eases and you are back oh your feet again soon.

Jeez, that's just terrible :( I guess the only thing for it is to send someone out to buy a bunch of books and movies to keep you distracted! Prayers for a speedier recovery and reduced pain!

Oh Kimberley, what a run of bad luck!

What was up with mother's day this year? I ended up getting dumped by a horse into a pond (at least it was a soft landing) and then got sun fried while I was bush hogging.

Oh lots of sympathy. Sometimes this kind of injury is more trouble than a break as with a break you have a plaster and everyone knows what it is... Hope you get plenty of support from those around you.

I really hope you are getting some rest with all of this horrible luck you are having! Please spoil yourself with lots of distractions to help the time go by fast. I hope u feel better very, very quickly. Prayers and Hugs coming ur way!!

MOthers day didn't go well for me either..father had a seizure and landed in the hospital...hope youfeel better soon..you could have landed on your rear huh!

Wow! When it rains it pours. So sorry about your injury. Maybe resting with your leg will help you recover from everything else. I hope you're getting lots of TLC!!

I'm so sorry sounds so painful. I agree rest that leg.
My goodness you sure wont forget that Mother's Day.

Oh no! I am sorry to hear of this. Seems like you have certainly gotten more than your fair share of pain and injuries. This disease is just relentless sometimes. And of course, the timing is always terrible.

Please know that I am keeping you in my thoughts for good rest and healing.
