I tested negative for RA factor and anti-cccp in April, and no longer have signs or symptoms of RA. I had IV-Rituxan for 13 years, then decided to opt out, and it's all good. Well, the RA thing is good, but the rest of my medical life has been a shit storm.

I lost my husband in July and last month I lost my disabled son. Last Thanksgiving I did get a uterine CA diagnosis
which was why my hemoglobin was 4 and my platelets were way low. I was told to have surgery but I couldn't because I had my two very ill family members who were sicker than me and I was the caregiver for both of them. But I learned that cancer is not worse than multiple strokes or covid in diabetic patients. with cerebral palsy. I thought for certain I would leave first but for some reason I am still here which I don't understand at all. We have absolutely no control of anything in this life.
I am sending good wishes to you and I hope that everything will work out for you and all the rest of our RA family. I hope everyone is doing well, This has been a really rough patch for my family. I hope to hear back from you and everyone else soon.

I am back on Rituximab, and felt great this summer.. For my second infusion in October I didn't take the prednisone, it messes with my adrenal gland. I felt like the infusion didn't work. I wake up with flares daily.
So, maybe Rituximab is failing, or maybe this has just been too stressful a year for me. My mom died, I got diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, we had forest fires everywhere around us. One night in August we watch a fire race up the mountain across the lake from us, 100 ft pine trees kindling. It was scary, although our house was not threatened. Although lots of flying embers. Our house was built in 2003, the year of the last big fire, where 45 homes burnt down in our neighbourhood. The owner-builder put cement shingles, which don't catch on fire.
I had to quit my PhD because my cognitive function was so damaged by COVID.,
Well, good for you for getting "cured." Or that you are in remission? I hope one day we can all say that. Although my RA just seems to get worse & worse.
Nice to hear from you. The only symptoms that I would attribute to RA would be severe cramping in my fingers, hands and occasionally toes and feet. I don''t know if that's RA, but I remember discussions about trigger fingers, but this is like trigger finger on steroids, so to speak.
There are other things that could be related to RA, but I don't have the RA I started with.
Sorry you had to quit your PhD program. I know you put a lot into that.
