I have been feeling sorry for myself these last few months.  I just got remarried in June of 2017 and was doing great as far as great can be with RA on humira.  Then I became allergic and everything started flaring up again.  My new husband had not seen the worst of this damn illness and I never wanted him to.  Most embarrasing is when we have been sitting for a while and I get up to do something and can't take off like a normal person.  I know he loves me but gosh I don't want him to have to live with this:( 



So I have been praying for a new attitude because this one is not working.  No one likes a complainer and when you have ra there is definiately something to say each and every day.  I love it when people look right through you and you can tell they just dont get it. 



yes, that has been my stinky attitude as of late.



So no more, 



so what if I walk like Im 80 instead of 48 when I first get up.  At least I make it to my destination!  



so what if I need to take a nap or two to make it through my day, at least I can!



so what if ten years down the road my mobility is uncertain, no one knows what tomorrow brings!



I am blessed to have had two loves in my life and have wonderful children! 



I have a church family and wonderful friends!



God is good and I am saved!



Now I feel better...xo

Joanne, glad to see your trying to change your attitude. I’ve been through the ringer myself lately. I had an allergic reaction to enbrel and an even worse allergic reaction to humira. Went to see doc today and he handed me xeljanz and I’m afraid to try something new because I has such a lousy experience but we have to keep going. I bet if your new husband got sick you would be there for him. Why can’t he feel that way about you? The pain just gets us down sometimes but we have been dealt a bad hand but then we pick ourselves up and keep going. Glad we have a place to come and vent!

Lorie2 yes I would be there for him and he is for me❤️ I did try to tell him how bad it could be which it’s not even at its worst right now so I just have to pray he can handle it. I also pray that you do well on your new medicine. I read a long time ago that is something we just have to expect is for the medicines either to stop working or are body will reject them after taking them a while Prayers for a cure! God bless

A husband is the person who MOST needs to see your weak side. Especially when this disease can be so debilitating. I was very healthy when I met my husband at 26. I was completely active, did everything for the first 15 years of our marriage. Then I got severe asthma, and I never really let him know how bad I was.

Next, was RA and other autoimmune diseases. I tried to pretend I was fine, but it was beyond obvious how bad I was. We never talked about it, I cried alone. Not sure why, maybe that is human nature. When I had my foot reconstructed in 2009, because of RA deformities, I finally needed his help. He was fantastic! I wish I had let him know earlier.

Anyway, if you are still having issues, and he does not understand, take him to your doctors' appointments. Talk to your pastor about what is going on. And trust God and your husband to see you through.

Prayer has let me cope with RA. It has not cured me. And no, medicines work because they are the right combo of the right chemicals to attack the disease. No wishful thinking or positive thinking necessary. Most RA meds do fail after a period of time. Simponi failed after 6 months. Xeljanz never worked. Kineret never failed at all, but my DMARD did - in terms of my liver. Right now, Orencia is working great! Nothing to do with my positive thinking.
