Hi Towne. I read your journal entry. So sorry you had to experience your onset right after one of the most joyous times of your life. Must have been a struggle dealing with postpartum recovery and a scary new disease to boot. I have one little guy who is four and had a miscarriage last year. My onset hit 3 months after I suffered the loss. I hope to have another one myself.

This site has really helped me. the people here are compassionate and seem to know a lot about the disease. I am new to it, so I do not think I will be great a help on in the insight department, but I will be here to listen and offer what advice I can.

I am happy for you that you had those 5 years of reprieve, but grumpy on your behalf that you haven't found something else to ease your symptoms since. Hope your treatment gets better soon.

Welcome to the club, Towne! You've found a nice group of people who listen and have a wealth of knowledge about this disease.

Post about anything here and someone will be along with some insight. Between the bunch of us, someone has the t-shirt for just about anything you can think of, and then some!

What meds have you tried?
RA meds are in a group of their own.
Work fine & suddenly stop or in your case reaction after doing just fine.

sorry you had to find us, but we are pretty helpful and harmless :)

we are an eclectic group - you can always get an opinion or five :) post anytime about anything. on friday nights that occur with a full moon we have a huge group skype and howl about RA in unison.

Hi everyone; I'm brand new to the site as well. I was diagnosed in July but have had symptoms for almost 5 years. I'm happy to have a diagnosis and meds that help, but also unhappy with the diagnosis (if that makes sense). Hope everyone is doing well :)

Thank you for your words of welcome, everyone, and I'm happy to see some other newcomers as well. I have tried a gamut of meds - humira, methotrexate, plaquenil, sulfasalazine, enbrel, remicade, to name the ones off the top of my head..... I am currently on xeljanz and just added arava, and of course take the usual prednisone as needed (which I hate taking so I always feel like I wait until I'm desparate). Of all that I've tried, Humira was a life changer for me. Worked and put me in remission for almost 5 years before I developed and allergic reaction to it. Hoping to find another that can kick the RA like that did. I'm looking forward to connecting with others that understand, as I think during bad flares, that is one of the hardest things for me. Thank you all for being so kind and I look forward to becoming a part of the group!
