Got the skin biopsy results today. The diagnosis is Granulomatous Dermatitis caused by allergic reaction to Remicade, giant cells with massive inflammation. No more Remicade or Humira (since they are similar). In fact, no new drugs for several months to ensure that I am completely past this reaction. Dermatologist even offered up that I would be better off with just taking the MTX and pain meds...if I can. If I could, I wouldn't have tried the Remicade in the first place.
Not certain what this means for my RA coctail...what ingredients are there to choose from when you are allergic to so many? Anyhow, I'll keep you posted after my rheumy visit on the 19th. Looks like I'm going to be moving like Frankenstein for the next few months while that dirty rat Remicade leaves my body. I'm already fatigued and stiff. This ought to be a whole lotta fun...(insert sarcasm here).
Anyway, just hope all the rash goes. This has been one of the most painful things I have ever had.

But now trying enbrel again. Took benadryl several times day of shot. No itching. i think it is helping some. But I am on 10mg prednisone so it is hard to tell. I will decrease prednisone little each week to see if enbrel is working. Hope so.
Enbrel is usually the one that rheumatologists go to because it has less side effects and works quicker (that is what my rheumy said).

Yes, from all I read and am told by the dermo, this can last for a while so that is why we are not introducing any new ingredients into the soup until the Remicade is through causing problems. One case I read about went on for about a year before it ran its course.
I tend to take one thing at a time. Right now, the most important thing to me is getting over this reaction. It has really been painful to have something like this on your feet and hands. Kind of hard to function without using your feet or hands.
