attempting to recreate a good day

Does anyone else do this?  I had a really, really good day this past week, and i have been trying to create the exact same conditions so I can have another one.  Of course it's impossible.  But I can't help trying, so I'm reconstucting the Perfect Day and trying to drink the same amount of water, take the same walk, rest for the same amount of time, eat approximately the same thing.  I'm not going so far as wearing the same socks or anything like that, just trying to duplicate any factors which really could have had an affect on the day.  Anyone else do this?

I think this might be called "magical thinking!" (Well, at least you left out the socks!) There are too many factors in life we cannot control, don't even know about. Air pollution comes to mind! And even if you buy the same food from the same place, there is soil getting depleted over an intensive gardening season, (maybe some essential but minute trace mineral is missing) or shipping practices.

Then there is mood. We could do everything perfect, then someone stops by we didn't want to see, presto!! Hormones in flight! Even FB can do that.

My goal is to be accepting of what comes my way. Some would call this mindfulness, I believe it is being grateful to God.

But still, a good day would be great, no matter how you get there!

While there are definitely many things we cannot control, there are some things we can. If you notice you feel better when you get more sleep, drink more water, get some exercise, eat more healthfully, find some time to balance work and pleasure, and on and on.....then you should do your best to incorporate those into your daily life. (I am not good at this....just preaching here!) Then at least you have done the things in your control. It may not be the exact same thing as that "perfect" day, but over time I'd like to think the pattern of behavior becomes easier and more days are good, even if not perfect. I think recognizing those things you can control vs those you cannot is a very important life skill....still working on it!

I meant the whole thing in a much lighter way than it's been interpreted. I'm playing in a pit orchestra for a community theater that's doing 12 performances, and I need to conserve resources every day so that I've got what I need from 7-10 every night. It's not my typical daily routine, and when I had a great day I figured I should try to be as consistent as I could to increase the odds of it working well for successive performances. Sorry, I just thought someone would get a smile out of it.

I know exactly what you are saying! I actually have tried multiple times..I guess never give up hope that we have some control.

    I've been on high dose prednisone for pneumonia, and now I am slowly weaning. But lots of symptoms I don't like having, plus overeating has put at least 10 lbs on me. The food is "loud" as the GLP-1 users refer to it.Also pressured speech. Which comes out in my posts. Sorry I posted so much. I just need an outlet for my agitated and irritable brain.     I haven't been around in a long time. I am admin in a private group, and I would like to upgrade someone else to that position. I thought I knew how to do that, but the prompt has gone missing. Or is it not allowed to upgrade someone else to admin? I just find "ban and demote" under "Edit." I don't get notifications to DS anymore, but I wil come back in a few days to find out the answer.
