I understand where you are coming from. It seems that every visit with my rheumy we are changing my meds and trying something else because I am just not getting enough relief with my current treatment plan. It makes me a little scared too to think about the future. If it is this bad now, how are things going to be in ten years? Then I think back to how the treatments and research have changed the way that RA is treated and I have hope that new things may come along that will be even better and do a better job of preventing damage. I am just floating along and trying to take each day at a time right now. Trying to not think about all of the what-ifs and why me's. If I do, I just get scared and depressed. Hopefully, we will all figure this out with each other's help! In the meantime, I'm sending you some hugs!

I'm feeling the same way. It's been a year for me, and every flair get worse. Im wondering if will ever find a med that works. im still hopeful with the remicade. next week is my 4th. I do feel better after those. my doc is going to put them closer together instead of 8 wks apart. im just going to stay on pred, every time i get to low I get a horrible flair and it's not worth it. Im happy at 5 to 10mg the rest of my life if it keeps me functioning.

So easy to feel like this when nothing seems to be working for you. I'm virtually on a par with you - the only meds I've been able to keep taking are Prednisone (now completely weaned off ) and MTX, strangely enough.I had reactions to Plaquenil, Sulfasalazine and worst of all was Arava. Sounds as if you and I are both challenges for our Rheumies.
I think you have to try to remember back to when you were dx, which is why diarising is good to look back on.
It will be interesting to see others' replies. I hope Remicade will be your magic drug. Next visit, in early March, my doctor is talking Simponi and I'm hoping the same thing.
We really are very fortunate to be diagnosed now rather than even ten years ago. We;ll get there eventually.

Hi Life, I do understand how you are feeling, but hang in there. I have been dealing with RA since since Feb. 2003 I believe an d have been to two Rheumatologists, and numerous meds. Almost evry biological and I am now on Cimzia and it does seem to work. I do still have pain like today, but on the whole I feel it is working. Sometimes it takes a awhile to find the right combo and sometimes when you find the right combo it stops working for you and you have to start all over again. RA is like a roller coaster, it takes you up and down and you have to kind of ride with the punches. On the days you don't feel well just stop and do something that will keep your mind off the pain like join your friends here on DS. I usually get in bed, and a heated matress pad cover works wonders for the body and get on my computer, I crochet, I watch TV, take my pain meds and wait until the pain subsides. It is easy to get depressed with this disease but don't let it get tio you. Try to take one day at a time and pray the Remicaide gives you some relief. Hope you are feeling better soon.

You are exactly how I felt looking at that video. I guess I'll just keep hoping the doc is right and I will be lucky and get back to normal. I too am scared
