any RA Doc's with RA?

Just curious....or are we just regular, easy cash for those glorious practitioners that spend such a great amount of time with us? So concerned are they about patient care (some, not all) that the selfless RA that I see had his office call me to make sure that I was going to be able to afford to keep the 1/4 appointment because of all the changes "caused" by the Affordable Care Act or because of changes did I need to just cancel (implication of go it alone). Gosh, what concern for helping people to get better. Goodness, what a credit to the humanity of the profession. Excuse me, must leave the machine and go chase my eyeballs across the floor since they rolled out of the sockets.

Lisa, unfortunately the only closest city that has multiple rheumys is Birmingham, AL. There are a couple that have really great reviews. I know that it's an 1 1/2 hours away but it's so important to find a good rheumy that will care about your body individually.

we're pretty close Lisa, well I live in LA (that's Lower Alabama) and you live in UCLA (the Upper Corner of Lower Alabama). i'm 35 minutes to the west southwest of Dothan. That's a fine looking young man in you pic, bet he's more that a hand full!

My rheumy is great. I must spend at least half an hour with her.

I don't know if the phone call you got nightshade is necessarily bad. For those with major changes, at least the clinic is checking in with them before they incur more medical charges. I think that is better than just completely letting people go it alone, some people may not even have considered this and the phone call may be helpful. Helpful how? I don't know, each person's situation is different.

I have a hard time picturing anyone with this disease having the energy to make it through medical school and residency. I'm pretty doubtful on this, unless some poor soul developed it after becoming a rheumy Dr.
